ExpatLanguageSchool.net is a platform that enables you to connect with a team of experienced, independent language teachers, from wherever you are. We believed in "online teaching" from the start of the company, before everybody else did.

"It is our belief that learning a foreign language does not only help people to better understand each other's​ cultures and customs, but that it also facilitates to meet up, to exchange ideas and, ultimately, to negotiate a successful business".


Luc Boeke is founder of ExpatLanguageSchool.net, he is at the same time team coordinator and account manager. Luc has been a part-time language teacher since 1995. He became a full time teacher at the University of Amsterdam, when he graduated in Communication Sciences in 1999. From 2001, Luc pursued a Marketing Intelligence and Data Science career that has brought him to international companies in the English, French, Dutch and German speaking countries of Europe.
Since 2017, Luc is based in Switzerland, a 'multi-language' country in the heart of Europe. He is expert in the domain of Dutch for business, business context roleplays and Dutch for children, teaching the 6 to 10 years old at the International School Berne since 2022.

Astrid is an experienced teacher, focusing on Dutch as a second language. She also teaches English and German. Born in the Netherlands, her mother tongue is Dutch, but she is fluent in English and German. She studied American Studies in the USA, then worked in the publishing industry in Oxford, England for 5 years. She and her family have been living in Trier, Germany for over 20 years now, so she has a comprehensive understanding of several languages and cultures. Astrid also enjoys teaching yoga and relaxation to adults and children.

Krasimira (Krassie) is a certified Teacher of English with more than 30 years of experience with ESL learners at school, college and university. Her international career brought her to the UK, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and the UAE. She is a Bulgarian national with Masters degree in English Language and Literature, TESOL and QTS. Krassie has extensive experience at high school and interest in preparation for Cambridge exams. Now she teaches General English and ESP to local and international students at university and corporate clients online. Krassie likes movies, world culture, geography, literature, music and has a good command of Russian. 

Rahel is a certified Spanish and English teacher for high schools. However, currently, she's working as a language teacher for German, Swiss German and Spanish. She works especially with people struggling to understand grammar, and focuses on achieving AHA moments with her students.
In 2021 she published her first book about "Swiss German for English Speakers" which allows expats in Switzerland to learn the language with little or even without any previous knowledge of German.
Languages are a big part of her life and she loves to share her passion with her students. No matter at what rhythm you're advancing, the important thing is to feel comfortable and supported in your learning.

Cristina is a certified Spanish teacher since 2015 with international experience and also a degree in Communication.
Cristina was born in Seville (Spain) and has lived for several years in Italy and Portugal. Currently, she lives in the Netherlands where she teaches her native language and culture, both online and offline, and at different academies in Amsterdam.

Cristina speaks English, Italian and a little bit of Portuguese, and is learning Dutch. She really enjoys learning and teaching languages, because: "Each new language that we learn gives us the opportunity to acquire a new way of seeing and understanding the world". 


Stefanie was born in the Austrian Alps. Her first teaching experience she gained as a volunteer for the European voluntary service in a high school in Finland. After that, she studied in Austria, Slovenia, Australia, and the Netherlands.
After graduating with a Master’s Degree in Yiddish literature, she started teaching for Universities in Germany, China, and the Netherlands. Since 2015 Stefanie has worked with various global tech companies. She also works with Dutch and Australian sign language and translates for PETA. Stefanie is a certified TELC examiner.

Stefanie loves reading, snowboarding, and aerial sports.

Itziar
is a professional conference interpreter and a translator, and since 1999 a member of AIIC (Association Internationale des Interprètes de Conférence). She studied both Architecture and Translation and Conference Interpretation in Barcelona, her home town, before moving to Rome (Italy), where she became a part-time teacher at the University of Perugia's Scuola Superiore per Interpreti e Traduttori, while working as a conference interpreter for the Italian institutions, the Vatican and the private market in Rome. Back in Barcelona, she got her certificate in Egyptology and moved her professional address to Brussels, where she works for the European institutions. She is trilingual at a mother tongue level (Spanish, Italian and Catalan), and has a near native level in French, a strong English, a good Portuguese and a decent knowledge of German.

Esther is a certified Dutch language teacher with more than 25 years of experience. She started her teaching career as a certified music teacher. After moving to Brussels in 1999, she started teaching Dutch to expats and French-speaking Belgians. In and around Brussels, she has worked for various international companies in different departments. After living in Belgium for 18 years she moved back to the Netherlands and since 2019, online teaching has been an increasing part of her job. 

Mieke: After successfully completing her studies in German and Dutch, Mieke applied her knowledge in the business world. She has worked for various international companies in different departments, always in positions where effective communication with customers, suppliers, project leaders and colleagues was of great importance. Currently, Mieke is working as a language trainer for German and Dutch and loves to share her enthusiasm with her students.

Adriana
is a qualified French teacher with a truly international CV. She is a Dutch national who has lived in France for almost a dozen years. Moving to France was a logical choice for her, after she obtained a Bachelor degree in French Language and Culture at the University of Utrecht (2005). She has an extensive experience in teaching French, English and Dutch since 2011, both off-line and via Skype. Besides her career as a language teacher, she works as a translator and interpreter.

Adriana loves singing and playing the piano and stays fit and healthy with hockey and yoga.


Delia has a clear cut opening line to introduce herself. "all you need to know about me is that I love to teach!" She is a certified language trainer and has been teaching French, English and Italian for 13 years now. Delia: "I love to share from my experience in order to help learners achieve their language goals."

As part of her own language academy, she has developed a course called Médecin Express Program, i.e. a proprietary teaching technique which is specially designed for doctors who need to learn French in order to successfully pass their interview at The Medical French Council. That includes medical role-plays and writing medical documents so that doctors are fully prepared for their new job in France. 

Second domain where Delia is very well at home is Business English. She works with entrepreneurs and business people who need to improve their English for the workplace and learn about business topics in order to make their work more effective and make the most of their career opportunities.

Moreover, Delia can offer language training in order to help learners prepare for the following exams: IELTS, TOEFL, Cambridge, OET. All these courses are designed for professionals who want to improve their communication skills in French, English and Italian so that they can obtain better results in the workplace, gain confidence and build strong relationships. Courses can be done in a one-on-one or group setting.

Ivana is a qualified and experienced French and Russian teacher. She graduated French and Russian language and literature in 2009 and has been teaching since then at universities, foreign language schools, tutoring both live and online. Passionate about travelling and her homeland Croatia, she's also an experienced tour guide in French, English and Russian, specialized in cultural and natural heritage. In 2021 she earned her PhD in semiotics of advertising and currently teaches Creative writing and French at the university.

Igor, native speaker of Ukrainian and Russian, studied Romance languages at Kharkiv National University (Ukraine). In 1995 he became a certified translator/interpreter and teacher and enriched his proficiency in languages working as interpreter with official delegations in Ukraine and abroad, in exporting and importing companies, and travelling. Igor has been a part-time teacher of Italian, Spanish and French for almost three decades. The range of his linguistic interests spreads on comparative studies of grammar and vocabulary, etymology, culture and civilization. Igor’s language teaching methodology may be particularly useful for those students who want to understand differences and similarities between their native language and the language they learn. Igor is convinced that a quick success in learning languages may be achieved only in case of everyday diligent work with texts, grammar exercises, audio-visual training material, and speaking practice. Igor takes into account personal goals of his students in language learning and he applies an individual approach to everybody of them. 

Anna is a native German speaker and a passionate German online teacher since 2020. After spending several years abroad in Australia, Chile and Austria, she finally settled in the French Alps, where she lives now. Originally a student of international management and human resources, she decided to become a German teacher after passing the certificate of the Goethe Institute. As she has learned 4 foreign languages (English, Italian, Spanish and French) she knows exactly what challenges and problems you face when learning languages. Her focus is on conversation classes and business German coaching. She helps you to become fluent and to professionalize your German. You can look forward to fun exercises and role plays for business situations (including meetings, presentations, negotiations and written communication) as well as for everyday situations in a German-speaking country.

Penelope is a certified language teacher, focusing since 2019 on teaching English as a foreign language. Since graduating from university in the UK, she has worked internationally as an ERP and CRM consultant. Having developed her teaching and coaching skills within the framework of highly complex projects, she fully understands the importance of effective communication within a multi-cultural environment. 
Penelope is also an avid musician and during the last few years, she has greatly enjoyed teaching music to both children and adults.

Irina was born in Russia where she graduated from university in 1982 as a philologist, a teacher of Russian language and literature and a German translator and  interpreter. In addition, she completed a course in Russian as a second language at the Pedagogical Institute. In Russia, she worked as a German interpreter and as a lecturer at a college, an academy and at a university. 

Since 1998 Irina lives and works in the Netherlands. She is a member of VLLT (Vereniging van Leraren in Levende Talen, in English: Association of Teachers of Living Languages). She teaches Russian as a native language to Russian-speaking children and as a second language to Dutch-speaking adults. She teaches Dutch as a second language to Russian-speaking students and corporate clients, if necessary online. The language of instruction is the student’s mother tongue. She develops educational material for online and offline courses. 

Besides her career as a language teacher, she works as a certified and sworn Dutch-Russian translator and interpreter since 2008. She writes and translates poems and stories for adults and children. 
 

Lucie is a certified French language teacher, with more than 20 years experience. She started her teaching career in the UK where she lived for 6 years. Back in France, she coupled her teaching experience with working in the private sector for an international company; an experience that benefited her teaching role in Paris and now Amsterdam, as she understands the needs and objectives of her professional students as well as their tight schedules. Lucie strongly believes that learning French can be fun! Her main focus is to adapt to the students, with constant interaction, respecting the students’ learning style and making them feel confident.

Jako is a native of the Netherlands, but has lived for many years in the United States. He possesses a Master's degree in Education with an emphasis on Linguistics. His first love has always been teaching and for example he has taught Dutch for the past twenty years in group or private settings. He is also well-versed in helping students pass their Dutch language exams in case they need to settle in the Netherlands. Jako also possesses a certificate to teach English as a Second Language and has been doing so for the past 15 years. Jako really enjoys being fluent in these two languages and has been a Dutch-English interpreter in various court cases and has worked as a Dutch-English translator. In addition, Jako speaks French, Spanish and German and even possesses a certificate to teach Spanish at the secondary level in Texas where he now resides. Because of his language ability, Jako possesses a real gift of explaining similarities between languages that makes the student less "afraid" of learning them!

Alan, an avid people person, has been internationally active since age 12. As a language coach and interculturalist, he has worked with thousands of learners from over 60 countries. He has lived on four continents (N. America, Europe, Africa, and S. America) and travelled to six. Besides his Native American English, he speaks fluent German, passable Spanish and Portuguese, and enough French, Swedish, and Hausa to get himself into trouble. (He has also dabbled with Farsi, Czech, Japanese, and Hmong.)

Beyond his professional teaching, Alan has co-authored books on American English and American culture. For eight years, he produced and hosted a TV talk show focusing on the lives of immigrants to the United States; those archived videos are available at FeelLikeYouBelong.com. In 2017, he produced a documentary film about Vietnamese refugees who resettled to his home state of Michigan. Alan's community involvements have included stewardship for local parks and waterways, hosting homeless families, and facilitating Institutes for Healing Racism. He is grandfather to two boys and one girl, whom he is teaching the joys of language and puns. In his down time, Alan enjoys backyard relaxing with his artist wife and their Coton de Tulear pups, Gladys and Agnes.

Olav is a native from the Netherlands and has been a Dutch language teacher for over seven years. After studying political science and working for the national government for over ten years, he met his partner and changed to a career he could take with him. 

He speaks Dutch, English and German and has a great interest in politics and history and travels the world with his diplomat wife teaching the Dutch language wherever he can. 

Olav finds that the Dutch language fits the Dutch culture: Direct, clear, and to the point. So, while learning the Dutch language, a change in mindset is also necessary to make you feel more comfortable when speaking the language. 

Or like American novelist Rebecca F. Kuang once said: 

Languages aren't just made of words. They're modes of looking at the world. They're keys to civilizations.” 

Young and dynamic, Khaoula is a passionate teacher and researcher of French literature. Her excellent academic career, shared between Tunisia and France, led her to undertake a cotutelle thesis between the Université Côte d'Azur and the Université de Tunis.

An experienced teacher, she has trained students in a variety of academic and professional contexts. With over five years' teaching experience at the University of Tunis (2019-2024), she has also been an online FLE trainer since 2020, collaborating with institutions and individuals in Europe and North America, including Hungary and Canada. Her expertise enables her to support learners of different nationalities in their mastery of French, whether for general or professional purposes. 

Thanks to her rich and varied experience, Khaoula has established herself as a responsive, creative and adaptable teacher, capable of designing high-quality interactive courses tailored to the specific needs of her students. 

Multilingual and curious, she is fluent in French and Arabic, has a good command of English and is learning Spanish and Italian.

Yamina is a passionate language professional with a rich multicultural background and a deep love for the French language. Born and raised in Italy with a trilingual education, she developed an early appreciation for languages. She later moved to Paris, where she spent six years earning a degree in Linguistics and Translation Technologies. Her career began in translation and project management, further sharpening her linguistic expertise and cross-cultural understanding.

In 2020, seeking new challenges, she relocated to Lisbon. As an expatriate, she deeply understands the challenges of adapting to a new language and culture—an experience that fueled her passion for teaching French. With her strong linguistic background and personal journey as an expat, Yamina is dedicated to helping others gain confidence in mastering French and embracing new cultural experiences.


Cédric is a certified native French teacher from Belgium. After gaining a master's degree in education specialising in teaching adults and reading, he worked in French-speaking lycées for 5 years with non-French-speaking teenagers. Passionate about French literature, he has always been able to pass on a taste for reading to both native and non-native audiences through various projects. During the COVID-19 crisis, his life took a turn: he went to work for the Ministry of Education to train teachers in the Belgian education system in digital education. Specialising in the digital reading of French and media education, he developed a wealth of skills in the use of digital education. After helping to make the system better, he travelled to Australia for over two years to perfect his English and discover this incredible culture. There, he taught French to Australian teenagers and adults in a fun, interactive and relaxed atmosphere. For several months now, he has been teaching French online, ready to help teenagers and adults at all levels (beginners, intermediate, advanced), with different objectives (professional, discussion...). He is also certified as an examiner for the DELF, DALF, TCF, TEF and TEFAQ exams, and can also help teenagers with the AB or IB Initio. 


Laura is a multilingual educator originally from Italy, with diverse academic and professional background. After completing her initial qualifications as a Nursery and Maternity Nurse in 2002, she developed a strong interest in the Sub-Saharan region, which led her to study Amharic as part of her Africana to Studies and Development degree at SOAS. She later graduated as a French and Spanish teacher and gained valuable experience teaching in secondary schools across the UK, as well as managing the MFL department. Laura further expanded her expertise by earning a postgraduate degree in Global Citizenship from UCL London. Since 2020, Laura has been teaching French, English, Italian, and Spanish to adult and university students in one-on-one and small group settings. Having retired from classroom teaching, she now focuses on providing tailored lessons that emphasize grammar comprehension, conversational skills, and creative writing. Laura currently resides in Spain and enjoys traveling and swimming in her free time.

Linda is a dedicated educator and researcher in the field of Information and Communication Sciences, with a strong passion for language teaching. As a native French speaker, she offers comprehensive and engaging lessons tailored to students of all levels. 

In addition to French Arabic is also her native language. She is fluent in English, Spanish, and Portuguese, and holds a certification in Luxembourgish. She also has a B1 level in German, allowing her to understand the linguistic challenges faced by multilingual learners. 

With her academic expertise and extensive language skills, Linda Saadaoui provides structured and effective teaching methods, helping students achieve fluency and confidence in French. Whether for academic, professional, or personal purposes, she adapts her lessons to meet each student's needs and goals. 


Ammu is a dedicated French language educator specializing in teaching French to non-native speakers. As a passionate polyglot fluent in six languages, she is deeply committed to both language instruction and acquisition. 

She holds a Master’s in Education (MA.Ed) and a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) from the UK, along with a Master’s in French specializing in Francophone literature. This strong academic foundation, combined with over six years of teaching experience in international schools, has equipped her with a deep understanding of language pedagogy. She is IB-certified and well-versed in various curricula, including IGCSE, IBDP, IBMYP, and IBCP. 

Beyond working with school students, she also teaches adults seeking to improve their French proficiency and advance their language levels. Through a structured yet immersive approach, she fosters both linguistic competence and a deep appreciation for Francophone culture. Her ability to tailor instruction to the unique needs of each learner ensures meaningful progress and engagement in their language-learning journey. 

Outside the classroom, she continues to explore new languages and immerse herself in different cultures. An avid reader and dedicated blogger, she enjoys sharing insights from her linguistic, social and cultural explorations, making every aspect of language learning a dynamic and enriching experience. 


Lynn, born in Luxembourg in 1996, discovered her passion for music and languages early on. After graduating from the "Athenée de Luxembourg" in 2015, she pursued a Master’s degree in Opera Singing at the "State University of Music and Performing Arts Mannheim," completing it in 2022. An Erasmus semester at the "Conservatorio Giuseppe Verdi di Milano" further enhanced her skills. Fluent in Luxembourgish, German, French, Italian, and professionally proficient in English, Lynn effectively engages with students from diverse backgrounds. From 2017 to 2021, she worked as a substitute teacher at UGDA in Luxembourg, teaching singing and piano, and has offered private lessons in German and music for several years. Her freelance role with "Sirius" underscores her dedication to teaching. Lynn has made significant artistic strides, participating in competitions and opera productions. Notably, she played Musetta in Puccini's "La Bohème" at the Regium Lepidi Festival in 2024 and won second prize at the VII International Music Festival in Vienna. Shortly after, she debuted in the title role of Verdi's "Lady Macbeth" at the Teatro dell’Accademia in Milan.
